Measure the space carefully

Measure assembled footprint, vertical clearance, the route the equipment must travel through, and storage footprint if it folds down. Also verify access to the correct outlet without unsafe extension-cord improvisation.

Measure more than the footprint

Start with assembled width and depth, then account for access, power cords and enough room to enter safely. Ceiling height matters for taller enclosures. Storage space matters if the unit will be packed away.

Steam in a small space

Steam adds moisture, so plan for ventilation and drying after use. A compact footprint does not remove the need to manage humidity around the enclosure.

Infrared in a small space

Portable infrared avoids steam but still needs safe clearance and the correct electrical setup. Compare actual dimensions rather than relying on the word portable.
